THE INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENT
Our homes exist as part of the greater environment in which they are built. Sustainable
“Green” homes integrate into the greater fabric of that environment rather than exist in a
bubble, completely separated from it. Conventional homes get their energy piped in through
a wire, their water piped in through, well, a pipe, its wastewater piped out again, and its other
waste bagged up and trucked out.
To create a sustainable home one must tie into the local environments natural way of
collecting energy and water from its immediate vicinity, treat its waste and wastewater
locally. Once this is achieved, the bubble is popped and a seamless environment is created
where once existed two competing environments; the human and the natural. In order for us
to do this we must first understand our local environment as well as the overarching
processes that drive it.
Dwellsol
Your domestic ecosystem consist of potentially self-sustaining processes and structures that
make them comfortable environment in which they live. We try to think of our homes like
ecosystems. Our homes and safe places for us to live. These processes and structures provide
air, water, heat and these use energy in some form to perform a function to support our living
needs.

Why go "Green"?
We believe that humans are an integral part of the natural ecosystem. By working with
instead of against nature, we save energy, materials and money when designing within
the world around us.
By learning from other natural systems, we can design homes and buildings that mesh
seamlessly with their environment and surroundings. This reduces waste, and
conserves energy.
